Hiking
Aigüestortes National Park is surrounded by four of the counties included in the territory of Alt Pirineu & Aran: Pallars Sobirà, Pallars Jussà, Alta Ribagorça and Aran Valley. It is the only national park located in Catalonia and is included in the Network of Spanish National Parks.
A must-see destination with high mountain landscapes, nature and adventure, valleys surrounded by peaks of more than 3000 meters and more than 200 lakes of glacial origin. Among these lakes, Sant Maurici stands out, a beautiful space at the foot of Els Encantats peak that is one of the most emblematic landscapes of Catalonia. There is no doubt, the park is a natural paradise which includes all the high mountain elements, from its relief, its flora and fauna, to its most abundant element, the water, whether in the form of rivers, lakes, snow or waterfalls.
If you are lookig for climbing, mountain skiing or a trekking in Spain, you should not miss its hiking, skiing and snowshoes itineraries, its popular high mountain routes, the rock or ice climbing sectors and the best mountaineering itineraries.
It is also worth highlighting its cultural heritage of its valleys, among which we recommend the Romanesque ensemble of churches in Vall de Boí and the night of fallas that take place in different towns during the summer.
The Vall Fosca (Dark Valley in Catalan) receives this name due to the lack of sunshine hours as it is surrounded by steep mountains. At the top of the valley, there are more than twenty lakes located at the bottom of peaks over 2,500 meters high, which are part of Aigüestortes National Park. The lakes in this valley form an ensemble joined by tunnels that are used to constantly supply water to two power plants.

Groundhogs are rodent animals, from the same family as squirrels, who live in high mountain areas. They usually hide in galleries or between rocks, and have a herbivorous diet. In addition, they achieve great communication between members of the same species through very characteristic sounds, especially to warn of dangers.

In this protected area everything revolves around water. It is an Eden in which rivers, streams, and lakes create a beautiful setting where life springs up. Mountains of more than 3,000 meters give shape to a fairytale landscape in which you can immerse yourself, almost literally, in the abundance of waters that fill these lands with dynamism. Here you will discover how the snow from the Pyrenees and the melting ice generate an ecosystem in which the fauna and flora arise thanks to the water. With great slopes that go from 1,200 to 3,000 meters, the park contains examples of valleys, alpine pastures, evergreen and deciduous forests, up to the steep peaks that crown it.
The hiking tradition of Aigüestortes leads to a large number of itineraries that give access to the park from the different valleys that surround it. In addition, there are popular trekking routes such as Carros de Foc, which links the different refuges of the park, and the long-distance trail GR11, which crosses the park when passing through the Catalan Pyrenees.
A great adventure from North to South, four days of exciting activities. We will start walking the highest peaks and passing by the lakes of the National Park, where water is pure and vegetation is almost inexistent.
We will reach the source of the river and follow its course while cycling, until reaching the first inhabited village. Later, we will navigate 22km of river in an exciting rafting descent, with many rapids and also moments of calm waters.
Finally, we will spend the night in a glamping style mountain camp by the river, and will finish the adventure descending the popular Hell's Canyon, passing through the steep walls which the water shaped over centuries.
A great challenge, a journey across the Pyrenean water paths that you can’t miss.
Transportation from/to origin and internal transfers.
These transfers can be quoted separately.
