Family Pipitone (USA) | July 2023As great as Barcelona was, the Pyrenees was an unexpected spectacular surprise. As you know, Silvia helped to arrange for us to leave an hour earlier than originally planned so that our hike in Mu Gorge (the replacement for the Escalaes Dam kayak that had to be cancelled for low water) was before it got truly and horribly hot. So thanks to the whole team for that adjustment. Pol was the nicest driver/guide for 4 days. He had several very long days driving us around and then getting back to his hometown, 45mins from our hotel, before having to pick us up again the next morning. At the end of the trip he gave Dominick, Nicolai, and I some delicious regional cookies. Because he knew Julie could not eat them, he gave her a special gift: a stuffed sheep to commemorate our sheep herding. "Pol Junior" is now part of Julie's extensive stuffed animal collection and has one of the coveted spots in bed with her at night. Pol really was a delight to have around for our long drives. The name of our hiking guide on Mu and the national Park is totally escaping me. That in no way is a reflection of our opinion. He was wonderful and showed us some amazing views. Possibly the best day ever was our rafting/lunch/shepard experience day. Ricki, our rating guide, was tremendously fun...even if he purposefully made sure we all took a swim with an "accidental" capsizing :) We all had great fun. Cafe Pesset has been unanimously voted as the best meal of the entire trip. When a 15 year old boy comments on how unbelievably good all the food was and names it as his favorite meal of the trip, you know it was amazing. Thanks to everyone at Cafe Pesset. We ended the day on top of the mountain with Pol, David, and David's wife (whose name I am also forgetting). At one point Julie was dancing around singing "the hills are alive, with the sound of music" while Nicolai, shirtless because he was hot from running to the top of the mountain, was "baaaing' to see if the sheep would answer (they did). The views had Dominick and I breathless, David and his wife were wonderfully patient with my Spanish (they don't speak English and my Spanish is mediocre at best), our picnic dinner with them was fun, and Pol had an extra long drive offroad as it was hot so the sheep were even further up the mountain top from usual. |
Family Schubert (UK) | July 2023We did rafting with Eddie and canyoning with Rahul and both were beyond our wildest expectations with a lot of good laughs. Our 10 years old boy solely enjoyed both experiences and could not get enough of them! |
Andy, Gaby, Tommy & Matt - Family Gordon (UK) | July 2021"After a memorable four days in the Spanish Pyrenees, we wanted to leave a review of how good the service was from Outdoor Adventour. As a family of four with two teenagers, we had limited ourselves to four days in a busy two week schedule in Spain but wanted to fit in as much as possible when in the mountains. Providing a list of requests to Silvia, she very quickly put together a detailed plan with a highly professional presentation and suggestions as to the best way to use our time. When we arrived at Lleida station we were met by Hector and from this moment all our transportation was taken care of by the team. Some of the activities started early, finished late and lasted longer than anticipated so this service was far better than a taxi could ever be and the local knowledge was essential in the winding mountain roads, especially at night on unlit off-road paths. The suggestion was to stay at the l'Orri del Pallars campsite which was peaceful, clean, had a large pool and included a breakfast substantial enough to see us through most of the day. The activities arranged were canyoning guided by Alex which was excellent (outdoing a previous canyoning experience), rafting guided by Rickie which included a welcomed extension to the experience by finishing at our campsite, caving which ended several hours after the planned time but Pepo, the owner of Outdoor Adventour, waited until we had finished, and a hiking expedition and an astronomy night both guided by Montse who is an expert in several fields. The astronomy night had to be moved at the last minute due to the unpredictable mountain cloud cover but our schedule was rearranged for us so that we missed nothing and enjoyed everything. An additional service was luggage storage for a few hours when we got back to Lleida, not normally possible but arranged by Silvia through a hotel lunch. Overall the service was efficient, professional, friendly, Covid secure and we were made to feel that we were always their priority. Anyone looking for a VIP service in the Spanish Pyrenees should seriously consider contacting Outdoor Adventour and thank you for a fantastic experience." |
Cedric - Family Lunel (France) | August 2021"The trip and the hiking route went perfectly well. The guides were great (Cesar in the National Park and Enric for rafting) and they knew how to guide us perfectly. Yesterday we went for dinner at Casa Kiko in Llessui - it was also a great experience! Thank you Silvia and the rest of the Outdoor Adventour team for this organization!" |
Kathryn - Family Eggleston (USA) | Summer 2019"Our hotels, our drivers, our activities ... everyone even loved the goat farm! It was a perfect mix, city, mountain, sea. The rafting was a lot of fun, and I loved the cows on our bike route! And the boys ended the day exhausted, that's a victory. Our guide was top notch, and we loved it that day too. Our driver even brought his own slackline for the kids when we had a few free hours a day. My husband told me several times about the great work you did, well done and high quality. Thank you, thank you for sticking to our schedules and blessing us with great memories!" |
Family Mcloughlin (USA) | Summer 2019“I was impressed with the Pyrenees, so much natural beauty and all the charming villages. A highlight of the trip for Michael, and for us too, was visiting the goat farm. Thanks again for everything, it was a great family adventure!" |
Betty - Family Mcgivney (USA) | Summer 2019"I just wanted to thank you for the truly unforgettable experience of rafting on the river Noguera Pallaresa. We've been rafting before, but this was the most exciting and fun experience we've ever had. Edu was our guide and his energy and spirit were contagious. It hurt my stomach to laugh. He always made us feel safe and somehow, he took us all to the limit without feeling out of control. We were a combination of ages 13 to 52 and I think I can all say that it was a challenging journey that often made us feel like we were on the brink of the abyss, but magically we managed to cross the rapids in an upright position, with a smile on our face. When we got home we were able to see the amazing photographs they took along our route. I apologize for not hearing her name, but maybe it was Laura who took them? We were able to live the experience again with the photos and video she captured. Thank you from the bottom of my heart! Thanks!!!"
