Although we could walk from Sort to Rialp in less than two hours, the trek enters Àssua valley due to its many attractions. On the one hand, its beauty, which forms part of the peripheral area of Aigüestortes & Lake Sant Maurici National Park. On the other hand, its literary baggage, since its settings are the sceneries of novels written by Maria Barbal and Jaume Cabré. Finally, its cultural attractions are essential: small agri-food workshops, the Ecomuseum of Shepherds, the smallest shop in the world located in Altron, Romanesque hermitages, good restaurants, etc.

Afterwards, most of the way is like a helicopter flight that allows you to appreciate the world in miniature. Also we will pass by three abandoned and silent villages: Bordas de Botella, Sant Romà de Tavèrnoles and Bordas de Arnui. Always through solitary landscapes of great beauty, we will finish the stage going down through a forest with several areas of tree species.

Later, along the royal road, almost always with dry stone banks on both sides and accompanied by the sound of the river, we will pass through idyllic villages: Araós, Ainet de Besan, Alins...
