The Water Paths

From the deepest valleys to the highest peaks, a great adventure awaits you: hiking, mountain biking, rafting, canyoning and a night under the stars. The perfect combination to discover the National Park and its surroundings.

A great adventure from North to South, four days of exciting activities. We will start walking the highest peaks and passing by the lakes of the National Park, where water is pure and vegetation is almost inexistent.

We will reach the source of the river and follow its course while cycling, until reaching the first inhabited village. Later, we will navigate 22km of river in an exciting rafting descent, with many rapids and also moments of calm waters.

Finally, we will spend the night in a glamping style mountain camp by the river, and will finish the adventure descending the popular Hell's Canyon, passing through the steep walls which the water shaped over centuries.

A great challenge, a journey across the Pyrenean water paths that you can’t miss.

Itinerary and details

Day 1: ARRIVAL IN BOÍ VALLEY AND FREE AFTERNOON
Description:

Arrival in Boí Valley on time to do the check-in at the hotel. Later, you will have the afternoon free to discover the area. We recommend visiting the Romanesque ensemble of churches and hermitages declared as World heritage by UNESCO. 

Dinner will be served at the hotel's restaurant.  

Day 2: HIKING ROUTE IN AIGÜESTORTES NATIONAL PARK
Description:

Meeting with the guide in Boí, entrance town to  Aigüestortes and Lake Sant Maurici National Park.

After making the presentations and explaining the routes and logistics, we will be transferred by a 4×4 taxi to Planell d’Aigüestortes. There, we start the hiking route through Sant Nicolau valley, passing by the fascinating Lake Llong until we reach the Col of Portarró d'Espot. Then, with a gentle descent we arrive in Lake Sant Maurici, where another 4×4 taxi will pick us up to take us to Espot, a beautiful town in the high Pyrenees where we can rest and regain strengthrecharge energies.

We will sleep in a typical high mountain hotel where we will eat good traditional Catalan cuisine.

Day 3: MTB ROUTE THROUGH THE LAND OF THE BEAR
Description:

Breakfast at the hotel.

Once ready, you will be picked up by a taxi and transferred to Pla de Beret, an impressive alpine plain located in the neighboring region of Aran Valley that will be the start of our next adventure, this time on a mountain bike. We start pedaling right at the source of river Noguera Pallaresa. A 32 km route and 1000 meters of negative elevation awaits us to enjoy mountain biking at its best. During the route we will recharge energies with a picnic lunch.

Once in Esterri d’Àneu, town where the mountain bike route ends, we can enjoy the warmth and peaceful atmosphere of a high mountain village. Again at the hotel, we will enjoy a good dinner and the necessary rest to continue the adventure.

Day 4: RAFTING DESCENT 22KM
Description:

Complete breakfast at the hotel and transportation to Llavorsí.

We will face a 22km rafting descent until reaching the camp where we will spend the night. In this river section, we will find alpine landscapes with white waters and fun rapids. Once on land, we will enjoy a meal at the camping facilities to recharge energies.

The camp where we will spend the night is equipped with all kinds of details and has the necessary material to spend a special night under the stars in an exclusive area within the campsite.

Dinner will be served at the campsite's restaurant.

Day 5: DESCENT OF HELL'S CANYON
Description:

A complete breakfast in the camp will give us the necessary energy to face the last stage of our adventure.

The group will be equipped to access the Hell's Canyon, an impressive descent into a very aquatic canyon, where the water has shaped the rocks into a thousand different ways. Falls, pools and rappels await us until we arrive at the confluence with river Noguera Pallaresa.

At the end of the activity, we will end the adventure.

  IT INCLUDES:
  • Accommodation in a typical mountain hotel located in the town of Boí, with dinner and breakfast included.
  • 4×4 transport to access the National Park through Boí Valley.
  • A 6-hour guided hiking trail through the National Park led by our local mountain guide.
  • All the necessary picnic lunches during the activities.
  • 4x4 transport from Lake Sant Maurici to the town of Espot.
  • Two nights accommodation in Esterri d’Àneu, in a cozy mountain hotel with dinner, breakfast and spa circuit included.
  • A self-guided mountain bike route.
  • An exciting 22 km rafting descent through the wild waters of river Noguera Pallaresa to reach the camp.
  • Accommodation in an exclusive mountain camp located by the river within the facilities of a campsite.
  • Full board in the campsite restaurant.
  • Guided canyoning activity in one of the most spectacular canyons in the Pyrenees: Hell's Canyon.
  • The material needed to carry out all the activities.
