The program can be offered to families with children over 11 years old from April to October.

Itinerary and details

In the morning, the family will be picked up at their hotel of origin to head to the Pyrenees. After doing the check-in, Mireia, the host, will provide a delicious lunch using some of the finest local products. At 2:30pm, the taxi will transfer the family to the starting point of the activity, where the guide will be waiting for them to approximate the beginning of the canyon on foot.  The guide will provide the wet suits and the technical material. Participants will only need to bring swimming suits, towels and a pair of trainers or mountain boots which can get wet and a spare pair of shoes to get changed at the end of the activity. We will start the descent with no hurries, discovering all the sports and possibilities the canyon has to offer. The rhythm of this activity is quite pleasant and enjoyable either for children or grown-ups, who will discover the exciting world of canyoning and will learn the essential skills for future canyoning challenges. Once back at the accommodation, a traditional dinner will be served at the homestay dining room.

After breakfast, the taxi driver will pick the family up to transfer them to Sort, town where the facilities of La Rafting Company are located. At 10am, they will meet our river guides, who will welcome them and give them the wet suits and the necessary technical material to get ready for the descend.
Participants will only need to bring swimming suits and towels. Then, the group will move to Llavorsí, village where the activity will start.

After an indispensable introduction about safety and some basic practice, the family will get on the raft to face the first kilometres, following a quiet descent which will allow them to get used to the river environment as well as the equipment. Later, the various rapids appear progressively, and with them the fun of this activity, which turns into an exciting adventure. It consists of a continuous and active 17Km descent with a slight gradient and several rapids, going down a classic navigation section in the river La Noguera Pallaresa. Fun is guaranteed. After the activity, a gourmet lunch will be served at Cafè Pessets, a space that combines a restaurant, a bar, a wine&cheese shop, as well as a space for exhibitions and social events. It is located in a modernist building and its cuisine is based on high-quality local products and is served as tapas and small plates, so that meals become a festival of flavours that combine perfectly with the extensive wine menu offered. Once finished, the family will be transferred to Espot, a typical Pyrenean town which is the east gateway to the National Park. There, they will meet a local guide and will take a 4x4 taxi together to get to the heart of the park and discover its most iconic natural heritage. The route will follow a path around Sant Maurici lake until reaching Ratera waterfall and Sant Maurici viewpoint, from where there is a beautiful scenery of Encantats peak.

Finally, they will be transferred to Arties, village located in Aran Valley which hosts Parador of Arties, second accommodation of the program.

In the morning, the group will be picked up at the hotel to head to Pla de Beret, place where the MTB route will start, over the mountain pass of Bonaigua (2072m). The route consists of a nice descent that runs through a spectacular valley in the Pyrenees, land of the bear and other wild fauna. The route also passes by the picturesque Sanctuary of Montgarri and it is suitable for all publics thanks to its continuous, gentle and smooth paths, surrounded by spectacular and isolated alpine sceneries. Once the town of Esterri d’Àneu is reached, the activity will end. There, the group will have some time to take a shower at the Spa facilities of a local hotel and enjoy an energising lunch at the hotel’s restaurant before the taxi driver picks them up to end the adventure.
