Weekend at the Pyrenees: Snowshoes, Astronomy & SPA

Looking for a special winter weekend? We propose you an adventure full of snow, relax and fairytale landscapes. A proposal that combines physical activity, nature observation and a spa circuit.


You will arrive in the Pyrenees in time to relax with a SPA circuit at the hotel in order to rest after a long journey. On the following morning, our local guide will take you through the snowy forests of  Alt Pirineu Natural Park on a snowshoeing route. You will end the day with an astronomy activity to learn about the night sky and Pyrenean mythology while tasting local spirits. If you want more, you can extend the trip with an extra activity before returning home.

Itinerary and details

Day 1: ARRIVAL IN THE PYRENEES
Description:

Arrival in the Pyrenees in time to do the check-in at the hotel and enjoy a SPA circuit while relaxing after a long journey.

Dinner is not included.

Day 2: SNOWSHOEING ROUTE AND ASTRONOMY
Description:

After breakfast, we suggest a half-day snowshoeing route through Alt Pirineu Natural Park, the largest protected area in Catalonia.

It includes several valleys and mountains that have as main quality their humanized landscapes and livestock activity with extensive pastures and meadows. The park is also the land of emblematic animals such as the capercaillie, the bearded vulture and the brown bear.

We will meet with the local guide in the Play Park of Port Ainé station. From there, we will go up by chairlift to the highest point of the resort, the Orri Peak, to start the snowshoe route. First, we will see the 360º views from the viewpoint of the peak, and then we will descend through the forests of Port Ainé enjoying the winter landscape.

Once back at the accommodation, you will have the afternoon free to find a place to eat and relax after an intense day of activity.

At 7pm, you will head to La Guingueta d'Àneu where an astronomical observation activity will await you to learn about the sky and Pyrenean mythology while tasting infusions of local production.

Dinner is not included.

Día 3: ACTIVIDAD OPCIONAL
Description:

Are you willing to explore more? Here there are some activities to complete your trip.

Maybe a visit to the Ecomuseum of Shepherds and to a sheep farm? Or do you prefer to do a workshop at a medicinal plants farm? Would you like to end your trip with a meal at a local restaurant?
